The newest Nigerian Player to join a Chinese club is now Victor Anichebe following his release from Sunderland at the end of this last season.
The 29-year-old Anichebe has joined Beijing Enterprises linking up for former Newcastle United star Cheick Tiote’s final club.
The Nigerian international was signed by Sunderland last summer and was one of the better players for the club, who had a disastrous season. However, injury setbacks were what ended up preventing him on a regular basis.
During this past season, Anichebe bagged three goals and was used as a part winger, part centre forward providing support for Jermain Defoe.
Due to his fatal injury problem, Anichebe was not offered a new contract at the Stadium of Light following the club’s relegation.
