Usain Bolt Retains Record As World's Fastest Man

Jamaican athlete, Usain Bolt has gone ahead to retain his world record as the fastest man at the ongoing RIO Olympics.

American sprinter Justin Gatlin won silver with 9.89 seconds while Canada’s De Grasse won bronze with 9.91 seconds.

This brings Bolt’s haul of Olympic gold medals to seven.

Speaking to reporters after the race, Bolt said he was confident of winning two more medals.

“After the semi-finals I felt extremely good but we did not have a long turnaround time after the semi-final so it was challenging. The triple treble is on without a doubt.

“Somebody said I can become immortal. Two more medals to go and I can sign off. Immortal.”
